Return to Your Rest

I really wish
I could wake up grounded,
walk through the day with ease,
and be content with what comes.

It’s not how my life goes
most days.

But I can return
and find rest for my soul,
for You are beside me,
always within me.

Return to your rest, my soul,
for the Lord has been good to you.

–Pslam 116:7 (NIV)

I love (or should I say “totally identify with”) your first three words..”I really wish…” How often do I say that, really believing that what follows is the way life should be. Somebody needs to stop me at that point (like the Holy Spirit!) and ask me what I’m truly longing for. Thank you for stopping me in my tracks once again.

I’m beginning the LFTH course. It’s going to be what I need this year, but I’m afraid the time is going to pass too quickly. I should dispense with energy-draining “I’m afraid” and trust what God is in the process of doing whether I see it or not.

So much appreciate you, Esther. Hugs, Martha
